JLo: Oscars Red Carpet

The Jennifers are the first to make a red carpet statement.
One stunning, the other, well, stunning for the wrong reasons.
JLo in an empire Marchesa goddess gown that features a neckline that looked draped in graduated strands of jewels.
The “Dreamgirl,” though, looks like she grabbed the silver shrug as an afterthought to ward off the chill. Her draped dress is gorgeous, but it’s covered by a tin foil coverup that looks as if it’s sporting wings.
Is it really Oscar de la Renta? He usually never takes a misstep when it comes to elegance.

Jennifer Lopez receives 'The 2007 Artists For Amnesty Award' at Berlinale 2007.02.14

Jennifer Lopez was honored Wednesday by human rights group Amnesty International for producing and starring in "Bordertown," a new film examining the murders of women in a Mexican border city.

Lopez said she felt "very humbled" to receive the group's "Artists for Amnesty" award from East Timor's Prime Minister Jose Ramos-Horta, a Nobel peace laureate. The award ceremony came before Thursday's premiere at the Berlin film festival of "Bordertown," directed by Gregory Nava.

Lopez plays an investigative journalist reporting on the serial killings of women in Ciudad Juarez, on Mexico's border with the U.S. The film also stars Antonio Banderas and Martin Sheen.

Amnesty International puts the number of women and girls killed in Ciudad Juarez and in Chihuahua since 1993 many after being kidnapped and raped at more than 400.

Lopez described it as "one of the world's most shocking and disturbing, underreported crimes against humanity."

Also at Wednesday's ceremony was Norma Andrade, whose 17-year-old daughter was found murdered in February 2001. She co-founded Nuestras Hijas de Regreso a Casa (Our Daughters Back Home), which represents mothers and families of the murdered women, reports AP.

"She's a remarkable woman and a true inspiration," Lopez said.

Jennifer Lopez's hot Valentines D-date

Rumor is that Jennifer Lopez may show up at tonight’s Rodeo Drive Walk of Style tribute to Donatella Versace. Hey, she owes her for that shocking sheer green chiffon gown that totally put Lopez on the fashion map. She’s not on the confirmed celeb list, as is her husband Marc Anthony. But the Donahue Group, organizers of the annual Beverly Hills fashion/entertainment event, says “there are rumors that she may show up.” Hope they save her seat.

But Lopez will NOT be at the Grammy Awards on Sunday. Why? Because she’s got a hot Valentine’s Day date with a Nobel Peace Prize winner in Berlin, that's why.

Lopez is flying to the Berlin International Film Festival to pick up an Artists for Amnesty award for “Bordertown,” her new film that documents the ongoing unsolved murders of hundreds of women in Juarez, Mexico. Nobel Peace Price Winner Jose Ramos-Horta will present J-Lo with her award at a ceremony co-hosted by the William Morris Agency on Feb. 14.

Lopez plays a journalist investigating the murders, Martin Sheen plays her editor who tries to stop her coverage for ad revenue reasons. The film also stars Antonio Banderas.

According to Amnesty International's Bonnie Abaunza, Jennifer helped finance the film using money from her fragrance sales. She first heard about the murders in ’98 when director Gregory Nava came to her with the project. “I desperately wanted to tell this story. I began working to ensure we made this film in order to bring the attention of the world to this tragedy and to pressure the Mexican government to bring to justice those responsible for these horrible crimes.”

The film is premiering at the Berlin fest on Feb 15. Jennifer will work with AIUSA launching a bilingual website on Feb 14 in memory of the murdered women. The site will feature
petitions, documentary footage, testimonials, online chats, contact information for non-governmental organizations in Juarez, and a flash animation depicting the severity of the problem. It will also feature public service announcements by Lopez and co-stars Banderas, Sheen and Maya Zapata. Lopez and her husband have produced a song, “Porque La Vida Es Asi,” (“Because Life is Like That”), inspired by and dedicated to the women of Juarez.

Jennifer Lopez talks multiple babies on Ellen

Jennifer Lopez will be on Friday's The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and while the star has made no secret her desire to have children, she does share with Ellen how one child may not be enough.

Ellen asks Jennifer whether or nor she wants lots of kids, maybe four or five, J.Lo says "I don't know about a lot. One or two, I'll take two at once, that would be great."

Ellen always the teaser, says "Really, that's a lot of work," Jennifer responds by saying "Okay, but then you're done, and you got two."

"Well, [with] quadruplets you'd be done with four," Ellen shoots back. But Jennifer says four at one time is "too many."

And Jennifer doesn't for one minute forget the important children already in her life, saying, "I have three step-kids." She is stepmother to her husband, singer Marc Anthony's, children, 12-year-old Arianna, 5-year-old Cristian, and 3-year-old Ryan.

Jennifer Lopez makes list of demands for recording session

Jennifer Lopez reportedly delivered a three-page rider to a recording studio that had to be met before she turned up to work on her new album.

An inside source from the Westlake Studio in Santa Monica told the Mirror that the rider arrived just two hours before the star was set to arrive: “J.Lo was such a diva when she was here last week. Her people sent us a three-page rider request for her dressing room which was absurd. It was so last-minute.”

“All the lights had to be at a certain wattage and an angle to make her look good. We’ve never seen anything like it since Michael Jackson asked for a room to be made above the studio so his monkey Bubbles could watch him record.”

“[Jennifer] wanted fresh, piping-hot Cuban bread which we had to trawl 10 bakeries to find and dozens of packets of Skittles - including the new sour flavour. She also wanted a gourmet meat selection, a separate cheese platter and crates of water and fruit and scented candles.”

“We needed to get six extra members of staff to fetch all she needed and lug all the food and crates over.”

“There was enough to eat for about 20 people in the end, but she barely so much as looked at it. No one here could believe it - we knew she was a little demanding sometimes but this was absurd.”
